Ashita no Joe's Tetsuya Chiba to Head Manga Creator Group

Ashita no Joe manga author Tetsuya Chiba will succeed Takashi Yanase as head of the Japan Cartoonists Association. The 93-year-old Yanase announced his retirement in June.
Chiba's Ashita no Joe manga ran from 1968 to 1973 in Shonen Magazine. It has been adapted into two television anime series, two anime movies, an original video anime project, and a live-action film.
