Men Arrested for Uploading Case Closed, Crayon Shinchan via Share

On July 25, the Tottori Prefectural Police arrested Hideo Yoshida, a 46-year-old male company employee in Tokyo's Itabashi Ward, under suspicion of using the Share file-sharing software to upload the 74th volume of the Case Closed manga without the permission of the copyright holder between May 3 to 8.
The authorities now suspect that the man uploaded a total of over 1,800 manga volumes without the permission of copyright owners. According to the authorities, Yoshida has admitted his guilt, stating that he began uploading gradually because of his love of manga.
In a separate case on the same day, the division of the Ishikawa Prefectural Police dealing with cyber crimes and the Kanazawa West Police Department arrested a 28-year-old male company employee in Wajima, Ishikawa under suspicion of using Share to upload the Crayon Shin-chan: Arashi o Yobu! Yūhi no Kasukabe Boys anime movie without the permission of its copyright owner, Shin'ei Doga, on April 11.
According to the authorities, the man has admitted his guilt, and he had used the Share software to upload approximately 200 episodes of anime downloaded via the Winny service.
