Idolm@ster Shiny Festa to Bundle 3 New Anime Episodes
posted on by Egan Loo
Namco Bandai Games announced at Sunday's Idolm@ster 7th anniversary live concert that it will bundle a new anime episode with each of the three Idolm@ster Shiny Festa PSP games on October 25. Director Atsushi Nishigori and his team at A-1 Pictures are returning from The IDOLM@STER television series for the new anime episodes, which will each run about 23 minutes long.
Unlike most of the previous Idolm@ster titles in which players manage the careers of aspiring idols characters, the upcoming games will be in the "idol rhythm" genre. During a music festival at a southern resort, the characters will perform live concerts as idols and even as a band (complete with instruments). The games will have new animated footage and new songs.
Each Shiny Festa game will feature a different set of idols from the fictitious studio 765 Pro. Idolm@ster Shiny Festa: Honey Sound will include Chihaya Kisaragi, Haruka Amami, Ritsuko Akizuki, and Azusa Miura. Idolm@ster Shiny Festa: Funky Note will feature Yayoi Takatsuki, Hibiki Ganaha, and Iori Minase as well as Ami and Mami Futami. Idolm@ster Shiny Festa: Groovy Tune will have Miki Hoshii, Yukiho Hagaiwara, Makoto Kikuchi, and Takane Shijou.
Each game will cost 5,980 yen (about US$74) on UMD or 5,380 yen (US$67) via download.
