AKB0048 Heart-Gata Operation Manga to End in July

The July issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine announced on Wednesday that Uta Saburo's AKB0048 Heart-Gata Operation manga will end in the magazine's August issue on July 13. Saburo's manga is based on concepts for the television anime series inspired by the all-female idol group AKB48.
The "action detective battle" story center's on the galaxy's female space idols who are also detectives. Together with a trio of young idols, a girl named Kanata Shinonome works to protect the first AKB group's outfits from the mysterious thief Elixir. In order to stop the thief, the girls become students at a school that houses the legendary clothing.
The manga launched in Bessatsu Friend in January, and the series' first compiled book shipped in Japan on May 11.
The AKB0048 science-fiction anime series premiered in Japan on April 29.
