TMS Streams Kubbe Picture Book's Full Promo Video
posted on by Ko Ransom
The anime studio TMS Entertainment began streaming a 215-second promotional video on Tuesday for the Norwegian illustrator Åshild Kanstad Johnsen's picture book Kubbe lager museum (Kubbe no Hakubutsukan in Japanese; Block makes a museum in English). Tetsuro Kodama (The Bears' School director, Mardock Scramble: The First Compression CGI director), the director of the previous animated promo for the book, once again directed the short.
In April, Johnsen revealed that TMS Entertainment is developing the book as a television series. The book revolves around a young log boy named Kubbe (Block, or literally "log" in Norwegian) and his adventures in nature.
Gyldendal released Kubbe lager museum as the first book in Johnsen's series in May 2010. After the book appeared at the Bologna Children's Book Fair, TMS began negotiations to license the series and make related character goods for release in Japan.
Update: Newer video added.
