Robin with His 100 Friends Gets 2nd Anime Season

The Anime! Anime! website reported on Tuesday that a second season of the Robin with His 100 Friends anime will begin airing on Japanese television in July. The Robin with His 100 Friends characters were originally created by PansonWorks, who has also collaborated in the creation of One Piece, Kinnikuman, and Kamen Rider merchandise.
The original series began airing in Fall 2010, and consisted of 13 5-minute episodes. Its story revolves around a boy named Robin who moves from downtown to Green Village and is determined to make many friends there. Themes highlighted in the story include ecology and friendship.
The cast and staff from the original will return for the second series, with Max Weintraub directing the series and Kentarō Kihara composing its music. The voice cast includes Ayahi Takagaki, Yūki Kaji, Saki Fujita, and Sayaka Narita.
According to the article, producers have plans for various character merchandising opportunities and promotional campaigns, as well as a global expansion of the brand.
