Toei Makes TV Anime of Driland Fantasy Mobile Game
posted on by Ko Ransom
The June issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Newtype magazine is announcing on Thursday that a television anime adaptation of the mobile gaming company Gree's popular Driland fantasy game is in production. In the game, players explore dungeons in search of treasure, using cards to defeat monsters in their way. Toei Animation will be producing the anime. Toei's official press release for the announcement also reveals that a Driland manga is planned for serialization in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine.
Toei also launched a website for the title. TechCrunch Japan reported late last year that the cell phone version of the game alone grossed 2 billion yen (about US$25.1 million) in sales a month.
