Fuji TV to Stream Some Anime Titles for Free on YouTube
posted on by Ko Ransom
Japanese broadcaster Fuji TV has announced that starting next week, it will begin streaming some of its channel's programming, including about five anime titles, on YouTube for free viewing. The channel currently plans to upload an average two hours of programming a day to its YouTube account.
According to Fuji TV, this program is part of a strategy to compensate for declining TV ad revenue by generating ad revenue online. The announcement also indicates that attracting overseas viewers is a conscious part of Fuji TV's streaming plans. However, Fuji TV did not specify if all shows to be streamed through this program will be made available to viewers outside of Japan.
