Kazé UK has tweeted that Makoto Shinkai (director of Voices of a Distant Star, 5 Centimetres per Second and The Place Promised in Our Early Days) will be in Dublin on July 2 to present his latest feature film, Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below (Hoshi o Ou Kodomo). It will be the Irish premiere.

No further details of the screening were given, with Kaze saying, 'More details on venue and tickets in due course.'

Kaze posted a video message from Shinkai on its facebook page, which was later posted by Manga Entertainment on youtube. In the message, Shinkai says the film "will be released across Europe in July 2012... It'll be the first time I introduce this [film] in Europe. I will come to Dublin in Ireland on 2nd and 3rd July, to Paris in France at Japan Expo and to Hanover in Germany on 9th July. Please come in all those cities, I am eager to meet you all."

The video gives the DVD/Blu-ray release of Children Who Chase Lost Voices as the fourth quarter of 2012.

Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below centres on Asuna, a girl who spends her solitary days listening to the mysterious music emanating from the crystal radio she received from her father as a memento. She embarks on a journey of adventure in the underground realm of Agartha, and comes to know the cruelty and beauty of the world.
