Sentai Filmworks Licenses Mahoromatic: I'm Home Anime Special
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Sentai Filmworks announced on Wednesday that it has licensed the Mahoromatic: I'm Home! (Mahoromatic: Tadaima Okaeri) anime special. Sentai Filmworks will release the two-episode special digitally through "multiple digital outlets" and then on DVD this summer with an English dub from Bang Zoom! Entertainment.
The two-part television special originally aired in Japan in October 2009. Shouji Saeki returned from Mahoromatic: Summer Special to direct this new work at the Gainax anime studio, and Kazuhiro Takamura returned from every previous Mahoromatic anime project to design the characters and oversee the animation production. Most of the cast members reprised their roles and the musical composer Toshio Masuda also returned to handle the music for the special. Tatsuhiko Urahata (Strawberry Panic!, Ichigo 100%) wrote the scripts based on Bow Ditama and Bunjuro Nakayama's original Mahoromatic manga.
Update: Digital release information, background information, press release link added.
