Saint Seiya Omega Theme Is New Version of Original Song
posted on by Egan Loo
This year's 18th issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine is announcing on Thursday that the theme song for the new Saint Seiya Omega anime series is a "Shin Seiki" (New Century) version of the first Saint Seiya theme song, "Pegasus Fantasy." The magazine did not reveal how the song is being rearranged for Saint Seiya Omega.
Saint Seiya Omega features a new generation of Saints in the storyline launched by Masami Kurumada's 1986-1990 mythological fantasy manga and Toei's subsequent 1986-1989 television anime. In the story, Kōga is a 13-year-old boy who assumed the role of the Bronze Saint of the Pegasus constellation. Saori Kido and Seiya (who is now a Gold Saint) return from the first series.
The first new Saint Seiya television anime in 23 years will premiere on April 1 at 6:30 a.m. in Japan (March 31 at 5:30 p.m. EDT). A March 31 premiere event will be simulcast in Japan as well as in Taiwan, Brazil, and France.
