Media Blasters Plans Release for Squid Girl Season 2 TV Anime
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The North American anime distributor Media Blasters posted a response on its Facebook account on Sunday confirming that it plans to release the Squid Girl Season 2 (Shinryaku!? Ika Musume) television anime series.
Media Blasters had licensed the first season of the series last year, and it released that first season on DVD with both Japanese and English audio tracks. The company also plans to release the first season of the series on Blu-ray Disc, although that release has been pushed back from March 13 to April 10.
Both seasons of the anime adapt Masahiro Anbe's comedy manga about a squid girl who vows to invade the beaches of mankind since humans have polluted the seas. However, her invasion is less than successful, and she ends up on dry land.
The media-distribution website Crunchyroll streamed both seasons of the series in several countries outside of Japan as they aired.
