Kenzi Taketomi's Suzuki Sensei manga will receive a live-action film adaptation later this year. The manga previously received a live-action television adaptation in April-June last year. Hiroki Hasegawa (Second Virgin) will return to play the title role, and the film will continue the story of an ordinary middle school teacher who struggles to deal with his students' issues.
Hayato Kawai will return to direct the film, and Ryota Kosawa (Always: Sunset on Third Street) will write the script for the film. Filming will start on March 5 and will wrap up in the beginning of April.
Taketomi's manga launched in Futabasha's Manga Action magazine in 2005, and the 11-volumes series ended in January 2011. The manga won an Excellence Prize in the 11th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards in 2007.
