posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the Hiiro no Kakera television anime began streaming the first promotional video for the series on Tuesday. The 90-second video for the romance game adaptation introduces the characters in the series, as well as their voices.
Bob Shirohata (Hetalia - Axis Powers, Gravitation) will direct the series, and it will be animated by Studio DEEN. Yoshiko Nakamura (Hakuōki, Junjō Romantica) will script the series, and Naoyuki Onda (Gantz, Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen I: Haō no Tamago) will adapt Yone Kazuki's (Hakuōki) original character designs and serve as the chief animation director. The cast for the original game, aside from the protagonist, will reprise their roles for the series.
The television anime will begin its run in April 2012, and advance showings of its first episode will begin in March on Japanese TV and the Nico Nico Douga service.
The original game centered around Tamaki Kasuga, a 17-year-old high school girl. When her parents have to go overseas for work, Tamaki moves to her mother's hometown in the mountains with her grandmother. On the day that Tamaki arrives at the village, she encounters strange creatures, only to be saved by a mysterious boy. The boy, Takuma Onizaki, is the first of five Guardians of the Tamayohime that Tamaki meets.
