posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
JManga, a platform for reading legal manga online, added the first volume of Takao Saitō's (Golgo 13) manga adaptation of Sakyō Komatsu's Japan Sinks (Nihon Chinbotsu) science-fiction novel, Keiko Kinoshita's I Love You, Chief Clerk! (Suki Desu Kakarichō!) yaoi manga, and the first volume of Hayako Gotō's Poor Poor Lips yuri manga on Tuesday. All three manga are currently available to purchase and offer a free preview.
JManga has already published Saito's Devil King, Dingo, Kitty Hawker, Survival: Another Story, The Larceny Log of Zampei the Cloud Snatcher, Muyonosuke, Hawking, Doll The Hotel Detective and Golgo 13 manga. Komatsu's Japan Sinks! novel has inspired two live-action films and a live-action television series. Komatsu passed away last year.
Digital Manga Publishing has already published Kinoshita's You & Harujion, Little Crybaby, Kiss Blue, and Honey Chocolate Pancakes manga, and the Digital Manga Guild will release Kinoshita's You and Tonight and Second Night of a Thousand Nights manga.
JManga is working with ALC Publishing to publish Hayako Gotō's Poor Poor Lips romantic comedy manga. JManga describes the series as follows:
Okashi Nako is a young woman living in poverty. When she applies to work at a Gem store, she learns that store owner, Otsuka Ren, is a lesbian. Ren promises that Nako's not her type, but she may be lying.... Nako takes the job and so begins a comedic tale of rich and poor, sickness and health, for better and for worse!
JManga launched on August 17 with numerous titles never before available in the United States, some of which have become available for purchase. The site since offered more than 40 more series by the end of 2011, and has added three more manga so far this year.
