Microsoft France Marketing Suggests No XBox 360 Successor in 2012
posted on by Justin Sevakis
Cedrick Delmas, marketing director of Microsoft France, has commented on rumors surrounding a successor to the popular Xbox 360 console, which was said to be released in late 2013.
When asked about the rumor, Delmas told the French website LePoint.fr, "We're in an industry where people talk a lot and like to tell stories. I'm not convinced that anything will happen this year. The lifecycle of the Xbox 360 is not at all finished. [...] As for what will happen at E3, it's a bit premature [to discuss that]. What's certain is that there will be nothing new in 2012."
Entertainment news site IGN previously reported that the forthcoming console would be based off AMD's Radeon HD 6670 graphics chip, which would make it roughly 6 times faster than the current generation Xbox 360. IGN also reported that the console will arrive in late 2013.

Update: Le Point is a mainstream newspaper that covers many general topics, and not just gaming. Thanks, Jacut.
