Japan Academy Prize Nods Confirmed for K-ON, Poppy Hill, Others

The Japan Academy Prizes' official website confirmed the nominees for the 35th annual awards on Monday. The website had revealed the nominees one day early on a "test" page; the test page has since been taken off public access.
The nominees in the Animation of the Year category are:
- K-ON!
- From Up On Poppy Hill
- Buddha: The Great Departure (Tezuka Osamu no Buddha - Akai Sabaku yo! Utsukushiku-)
- Tōfu Kozō
- Detective Conan: Quarter of Silence
