Noriko Ogiwara's modern fantasy about girl from a shrine with secret family legacy

Kadokawa Group Publishing announced that an anime adaptation of Noriko Ogiwara's RDG Red Data Girl modern fantasy novel series is in the works.

The story revolves around Izumiko Suzuhara, a girl raised within the confines of Tamakura Shrine, one of the Kumano shrines that are part of a World Heritage site. However, after Izumiko spent practically her entire life at Kumano until middle school, it was decided that she and her childhood friend Miyuki would enroll in Hōjō High School in Tokyo. On a school trip to Tokyo, a mysterious entity known as Himegami appears and a terrible incident occurs. Izumiko's family carries a great secret that Izumiko is about to learn.

Ogiwara launched the novels just this past June after creating The Good Witch of the West (Nishi no Yoki Majo - Astraea Testament), and the fifth RDG volume shipped in October. Tokyopop published The Good Witch of the West manga in North America, and the manga has a related anime.
