Funimation Acquires Confucius Live-Action Chinese Film

FUNimation Entertainment announced on Wednesday that it has acquired U.S. home video rights for the 2010 live-action Chinese film Confucius. Confucius will be released on DVD on March 27, 2012.
Chow Yun-Fat (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Hard Boiled) stars as the influential Chinese philosopher in the biographical drama. The film starts at the end of the scholar's life and follows his rise and fall in the Chinese political hierarchy through flashbacks and reflections.
The film was nominated in various categories at the 30th Annual Hong Kong Film Awards and won the Best Cinematography category.
