Seven Net Shopping, the online retail site of the 7-Eleven convenience store chain in Japan, listed the January 2012 issue of Kadokawa Group Publishing's Viva Tales of Magazine, and the listing has "Tales of Xillia the Animation" written in the issue's contents. The issue will ship on November 28.
Namco Bandai Games has yet to announce an anime adaptation of this role-playing game for the PlayStation 3 console. About 740,000 copies of Tales of Xilia shipped in Japan in the first half of the 2012 fiscal year since September 8. About 526,000 copies were sold in the game's first week, making it one of the top five best-selling games in Japan this year so far.
A few of the earlier games in the "Tales of" franchise — Tales of Eternia, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of Vesperia — already inspired anime adaptations.
