Metal Gear Solid game designer Hideo Kojima brought 5pb. studio head/producer Chiyomaru Shikura (Steins;Gate, Chaos;HEAd) onto his "Hideradio" program on Friday to discuss their previously announced game collaboration, and the two revealed that there are anime plans for the project.
About a half hour into the 303rd episode of "Hideradio," Kojima explained that 5pb. is making their adventure game, and he is serving as a producer (as opposed to the project's director). Shikura and Kojima then added that they want to make an anime, as plans for an anime were developed alongside the game from the beginning. Shikura also discussed his overseas release strategy for this project and the Japanese adventure game genre in general.
Shikura said that he and 5pb. are right in the middle of writing and producing another game, the previously announced Robotics;Note. He anticipates that Robotics;Note will be released next spring. Shikura projects that his collaborative project with Kojima will be released next year also. Shikura will produce the collaborative project's theme song, as he has done for other 5pb. projects.
During the program, Kojima said that Shikura had two requests for the story. The first request was for the main lead to be a second-year high school student, but the two creators cannot reveal the second request yet.
