Ministop to Offer Squid Girl Items in Prize Campaign

The Ministop Japanese convenience store chain is collaborating with the producers of the Shinryaku! Ika Musume (Squid Girl) anime to launch "Ministop Invasion!? Campaign de geso!!" from October 25 to November 15. With a purchase of at least 500 yen (about US$6.50) in select Squid Girl items, customers can enter for a chance to win exclusive Squid Girl gifts.
Five winners will receive the top prize, a Squid Girl alarm clock featuring the voice of the anime's titular character. Ten people will get a Squid Girl photo stand, and thirty Ministop shoppers will receive a themed hot plate and takoyaki (Japanese octopus dumpling) set. Another top prize will be a Squid Girl-themed humidifier, given to 50 lucky customers.
Customers can choose to purchase a variety of Squid Girl seafood meals, snacks, and other items to reach the 500 yen minimum for a chance to enter. Winners of the "Ministop Invasion!? Campaign de geso!!" event will be announced sometime between the end of December and the beginning of January.
Yotchan Foods, the Japanese maker of a popular line of seafood-based snacks, partnered with the Shinryaku! Ika Musume Shinryaku! Ika Musume (Squid Girl) anime production in March to sell special dried squid snacks at various Ministop stores throughout several regions of Japan.
