Man Arrested for Uploading Minami-ke Onto Video Site

Police arrested a 20-year-old male company worker from Nara Prefecture's Kitakatsuragi District on Wednesday on suspicion of uploading anime online without the copyright holders' permission. According to the Association of Copyright for Computer Software, the suspect uploaded the first episode of Minami-ke ("Minami Sanchi no Shimai") around April 26. The suspect allegedly kept the file on the online storage site Petite Soeur and then uploaded it to the video-sharing site Himawari Dōga.

Police seized a personal computer, hard disks, and other items after a search of the suspect's home on the day of his arrest.
