Paprika's Tsutsui Discusses Anime Plans for New Novel (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
In an online journal entry on Friday, acclaimed science-fiction author Yasutaka Tsutsui reported that he confered over plans for an anime adaptation of his recent light novel Bianca Overstudy "among various other topics" with Kodansha editor Katsushi Ohta and Aniplex producer Atsuhiro Iwakami the day before. Tsutsui (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Paprika, Mirai Kara Shōnen Super Jetter) launched this novel with three chapters in the seventh volume of Kodansha's literary magazine Faust in 2008, and Noizi Ito (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Shakugan no Shana) drew the illustrations.
The story of adolescence with science-fiction undertones revolves around Bianca Kitamachi, a schoolgirl of unrivaled beauty. To study the reproduction of sea urchins, she conducts questionable experiments over and over again, and strange events begin taking place.

Update: More information added.
Update 2: Ota retweeted a report about the anime plans, while acknowledging with amusement that Tsutsui revealed too much. Ota had previously revealed the eighth issue of Faust, which is slated for Thursday, September 29. However, he noted that the cover of the eighth issue says that Faust will fold in the following issue. [Via Temple Knights]
