Walt Disney Studios Japan will release Hayao Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle film and Goro Miyazaki's Tales from Earthsea film on Blu-ray Disc with subtitles and dubbing in multiple languages on November 16. Disney Japan will also reissue Hayao Miyazaki's Ponyo film in a new package on the same day for the same price (7,140 yen or about US$93 each) as the other two films.
Howl's Moving Castle will have Japanese soundtracks in linear PCM 2.0 ch and DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1ch, as well as soundtracks in English, French, German, Italian, Korean, and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin). It will also have Japanese, English, and French subtitles. The bonus extras will include a recording dialogue script, the nine-minute "Sekai no Howl" short, an seven-minute interview with English-dubbing director Pete Docter, a 12-minute collection of trailers, 11 minutes of footage from the American premiere screening, the 16-minute "Lasseter-san, Konnichiwa" short, and the 20-minute "Howl's Castle Moved This Way" making-of video.
Tales from Earthsea will have Japanese soundtracks in linear PCM 2.0 ch and DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1ch, as well as soundtracks in English, French, Italian, Korean, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), German, and Spanish. It will also have Japanese, English, and French subtitles. The bonus extras will include a picture-in-picture storyboard feature, a recording dialogue script, a collection of trailers, two making-of videos, and a 44-minute television special.
The Blu-ray jacket art for all three films will be similar to those of Blu-ray Discs for other Studio Ghibli films.
