posted on by Egan Loo
According to the Japanese arm of the online retailer Amazon, the August issue of Media Factory's Monthly Comic Gene magazine is announcing on Friday that a television anime adaptation of Kairi Shimotsuki's Brave10 S (Spiral) manga has been green-lit.
The story reimagines the legendary adventures of the 10 brave warriors assembled by the warlord Sanada Yukimura in the year 1600, in the middle of Japan's tumultuous Sengoku (Warring States) era.
Shimotsuki launched this continuation of her original Brave10 manga in the first issue of Monthly Comic Gene in June. Tokyopop acquired Shimotsuki's first Brave10 manga series, but did not publish the manga before closing its North American publishing division in May.
Tokyopop did publish her Madness manga in North America. She is also launching her adaptation of Hideyuki Kikuchi's Makai Ishi Mephisto novel series in the August issue of Monthly Comic Gene on Friday.
Update: More background and story information added.
Update 2: The August issue of Monthly Comic Gene also includes a drama CD. The Animate store chain's Charaby magazine lists the following cast:

- Sarutobi Sasuke: Jun Fukuyama
- Sanada Yukimura: Hiroaki Hirata
