Suspect Arrested for Uploading Games, Manga via Share Program

Police arrested a 29-year-old male Japan Self-Defence Forces member from Sakaiminato City on suspicion of using the Share file-sharing software to upload videogames and manga online without the copyright holders' permission on Wednesday. According to the Association of Copyright for Computer Software, the suspect uploaded the 10th volume of the Pani Poni manga and the Shin Sangoku Musō 4 (Dynasty Warriors 5) videogame around March 3, 2010. He also allegedly uploaded the Nobunaga no Yabō - Tendō (Nobunaga's Ambition: Tendō) computer game on September 10, 2010.
In addition, copyright holders accused the suspect of uploading the 14th volume of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin manga. The suspect was already arrested on May 30 and charged on Tuesday for allegedly distributing child pornography via Share.
