Online JManga Service Invites N. American Beta Testers
posted on by Andrew Osmond
The media-distribution website Crunchyroll is inviting North American manga fans to apply for the closed beta test of JManga, a platform for reading legal manga online. Applicants should fill in their details on a signup form; if successful, they will be notified by email in the first week of July. The organizers are aiming for an official launch "sometime this year."
Shueisha Managing Director Kazuhiko Torishima first revealed plans for a legal North American manga-reading site during a talk at the Denshi Shoseki Comic Summit in Tokyo last November. A private beta version of the site appeared online this past March, although the details of the service have changed since then.
