Gravitation EX Boys-Love Manga Returns After 2+ Years
posted on by Egan Loo
The June issue of Gentosha's online magazine Web Spica announced on Friday that Maki Murakami is resuming her Gravitation EX boys-love manga after more than two years. The new chapter will appear in the next issue on June 28, and Murakami is illustrating the cover along with Kujira (Yamabiyori).
Murakami launched Gravitation EX online in 2004 as a sequel to her Gravitation manga about the novelist Eiri Yuki and his vocalist lover, Shuichi Shindō. In what they described as a historic first, Gentosha and North America's Tokyopop published the first volume of Gravitation EX on the same day in Japan, North America, and Europe in February of 2007. However, Murakami took a hiatus from the manga soon after, so the upcoming chapter will be the first new one in years.
Tokyopop also published the 12 volumes of the first Gravitation manga series as well as two spinoff novels. The manga inspired a television anime series and a video anime project which The Right Stuf International released in North America. Murakami's other manga titles include Kanpai! and Gamerz Heaven.
