DramaQueen Plans to Ship 2008 Boys-Love License Junk
posted on by Gia Manry
The North American yaoi/boys-love manga publisher DramaQueen, LLC announced on Thursday that it intends to release Shushushu Sakurai's manga Junk! on June 1 of this year and has launched pre-orders on its website. The publisher confirmed with ANN that it originally acquired the license to the one-shot manga in 2008, shortly before the company went through a period of dormancy. DramaQueen also confirmed that it has successfully released its first book since its hiatus, Sakurai's Missing Road, this past January.
DramaQueen president Tran Nguyen told ANN that the company is "getting back on [its] feet" and is tentatively working on another unreleased past license, which it will announce when the book goes to press. Rival publisher Digital Manga Publishing acquired several of DramaQueen's former licenses during the latter's inactivity: Makoto Tateno's Yokan - Premonition, Fusanosuke Inariya's Maiden Rose, and Hinako Takanaga's The Tyrant Falls in Love.
