Kekkaishi Manga to End in Japan on April 6
posted on by Egan Loo
This year's 18th volume of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is confirming this week that Yellow Tanabe's Kekkaishi supernatural action manga will reach its climax in the next issue of April 6.
The story follows Yoshimori Sumimura, a boy who is the 22nd Kekkaishi — barrier master — of the Sumimura clan. As Kekkaishi, Sumimura and his rival Tokine Yukimura guard the land of Karasumori against supernatural creatures.
The manga has been running in Weekly Shonen Sunday since 2003, after the magazine ran Tanabe's prototype manga for the story several months earlier. Viz Media will publish the 25th of the 33 current manga volumes next month. Adult Swim, the late-night television counterpart of Cartoon Network in the United States, has been running the English dub of Sunrise's 2006-2008 Kekkaishi television anime series since last May.
