Metal Fight Beyblade 4D TV Anime to Launch (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
The March issue of Shogakukan's Monthly CoroCoro Comic magazine announced on Tuesday that a new television anime series based on the Beyblade spinning-top game franchise, Metal Fight Beyblade 4D, will be launching. The new series will run on TV Tokyo on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. — the same timeslot as the current Beyblade anime, Metal Fight Beyblade: Baku (pictured below). Metal Fight Beyblade 4D will be the third Metal Fight Beyblade anime series and the sixth Beyblade anime series overall.
Metal Fight Beyblade was the first new anime in four years for Beyblade, the franchise based on the spinning-top games from Takara Tomy and Hasbro. The Canadian production company Nelvana Enterprises has been adapting the 2009-2010 Metal Fight Beyblade anime series as Beyblade: Metal Fusion in North America since last year, and it will release more Beyblade anime under the name Beyblade: Metal Masters.

Update: The "4D" of the anime title comes from the game franchise's revised "4D" system. The "4D" stands for "different" materials, "divided" (multi-part construction), "dynamic," and "deep" customizability.
