posted on by Egan Loo
The production company IDA Entertainment announced that it posted the first English-dubbed episode of the military anime Cat Shit One, in its entirety in high definition, on Saturday. The episode will be viewable in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand for the next two weeks. The online retailer Amazon also began selling the anime on DVD and Blu-ray Disc with English subtitles and dubbing.
Director Kazuya Sasahara's Cat Shit One: The Animated Series adapts Motofumi Kobayashi's manga about American soldiers who happen to be cute animals in the special forces unit Cat Shit One. ADV Manga released three volumes of the original Cat Shit One manga under the title Apocalypse Meow in North America.
IDA has been working towards an eventual 12-episode television series version of Cat Shit One, and it already has a stereoscopic 3D version of the current footage for distributors to license. The Visual Effects Society nominated Cat Shit One: The Animated Series for the Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Short category in the 9th Annual VES Awards last month.
