Maaya Sakamoto Earns 1st #1 Album on Weekly Chart (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
You can't catch me, the seventh original album from voice actress Maaya Sakamoto, has sold 27,000 copies to rank #1 on Oricon's album sales chart for the January 10-16 week. The 12-track CD is Sakamoto's first album to rank #1 on the weekly chart. It is her first release — album or single — since her 1996 debut 15 years ago to rank #1.
Until now, the highest rank that Sakamoto achieved was #3, which she did four times with the 2008 single "Triangler," the 2003 best-hits album Single Collection+Nikopachi, 2010's 15th anniversary best-hits album everywhere, and the 2009 original album Kazeyomi.
