The Magic of Chocolate Shōjo Horror Manga Gets Anime
posted on by Egan Loo
The wraparound jacket band on the third volume of Rino Mizuho's The Magic of Chocolate (Shokora no Mahō) shōjo horror manga series is announcing this month that an anime adaptation has been green-lit. More details will be provided in Shogakukan's Ciao magazine.
The "bittersweet, mysterious story" revolves around Chocolat Aikawa, a chocolatière who runs a shop called Chocolat Noir. She can grant wishes to the troubled people who visit her shop — if they give her something precious in exchange.
Mizuho has been drawing the manga in Ciao and Ciao DX on an irregular schedule, and the first compiled volume shipped in July of 2009. The second volume, The Magic of Chocolate ~bittersweet~, shipped this past March, and the third volume, The Magic of Chocolate ~creamy sugar~, is shipping this month.
