Nippon Animation President Kôichi Motohashi Passes Away

Producer of World Masterpiece Theater anime classics Dog of Flanders, Anne of Green Gables, others

The anime studio Fanworks reports on its Twitter account that Kôichi Motohashi, the president of the acclaimed anime studio Nippon Animation, passed away. He was 80 years old. Motohashi was the executive producer of dozens of Nippon Animation titles, including the classic World Masterpiece Theater collection. Those titles include Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Dog of Flanders, Anne of Green Gables, Ai no Wakakusa Monogatari (Little Women), Wakakusa Monogatari Nan to Jou Sensei (Little Men), and many others.
