posted on by Heather Skinner
The Institute for East Asian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley announced that, Hideo, a theatrical concert of music from anime and video games, will be held at the university's Zellerbach Hall this Saturday, October 16. The concert will feature music from Noir, Fullmetal Alchemist, Final Fantasy, Mega Man, and other anime and game titles.
The concert will tell a story about "a man who will stop at nothing to avenge the death of his friend." It is set in a world where "the old Gods have faded. Their passing is marked by the crumbling remnants of forgotten technology. The means to manufacture advanced weaponry and ammunition is virtually gone and few such weapons remain; the sword now commands the battlefield."
Tickets are priced at US$64, US$52, and US$40 by location and can be bought online or by calling 510-642-9988. There are discounts for UC Berkeley students and groups of 10 or more people.
