Big Comic Spirits Marks 30th with Rumiko Takahashi, Others
posted on by Egan Loo
Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comics Spirits magazine is marking the 30th anniversary of its founding with one-shot manga stories by prominent creators over the next six weeks. In this year's 44th issue on Monday, Rumiko Takahashi created "Hoshi wa Sen no Kao" about a live-action television star who disappears before the location shoot of her final episode; Takahashi's Maison Ikkoku ran in the same magazine from 1980 to 1987.
The 45th issue will have the short story "Inu wa Nan to Naku" by Taiyo Matsumoto (Tekkonkinkreet, GoGo Monster, Ping Pong), followed by short stories by Satoshi Yoshida (Shōnan Bakusōzoku), Mitsuru Adachi (Touch, H2, Cross Game), Fumi Saimon (Tokyo Love Story, Shin Dosei Jidai), and Tsubasa Fukuchi (The Law of Ueki) over the next subsequent issues.
