Japanese Box Office, September 25-26

Kimi ni Todoke opens at #2/#3 with US$2,770,613; Beck, Gundam 00, Arrietty in top 10

The Umizaru: The Last Message, the third live-action film based on Shuho Sato's manga about the Japanese Coast Guard, stayed at #1 during the September 25-26 weekend. In its second weekend, the movie earned US$8,184,164 on 467 screens for a gross-to-date of US$37,967,952.

The live-action film adaptation of Karuho Shiina's Kimi ni Todoke romantic comedy manga debuted at #2 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's chart. It appeared at #3 on Box Office Mojo's chart with US$2,770,613 on 285 screens.

The live-action film adaptation of Harold Sakuishi's Beck manga dropped from #5to #6. In its fourth weekend, it earned US$913,266 more on 313 screens to add to its total of US$17,466,635.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: A Wakening of the Trailblazer, the sequel to the two Mobile Suit Gundam 00 television series, dropped from #3 to #7 with US$910,346 on 88 screens. After its second weekend, it now has a total of US$5,328,633.

Hiromasa Yonebayashi and Studio Ghibli's The Borrowers (Karigurashi no Arrietty) anime film also dropped from #8 to #9 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's box office chart during its 11th weekend. According to Box Office Mojo, the movie earned US$486,220 on 352 screens to add its total of US$106,396,791.

The double billing of Metal Fight Beyblade VS Taiyō Shakunetsu no Shinryakusha and Duel Masters: Honō no Kizuna XX!! is no longer on the box office charts.
