Madhouse Reveals Ninja Ten Battles Web Anime with Kawajiri (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
Masao Maruyama, the founder and producer of the Madhouse anime studio, revealed at his Otakon panel on Friday that his studio is developing a Ninja Ten Battles "webisode." According to Maruyama, the story is about "a guy in drag with a sword who fights ninjas." The web anime is being developed as a teaser trailer for a possible movie.
Maruyama's slide presentation for the panel had this new anime listed, but it was covered up by a "Censored" label. Maruyama later explained in the panel that the anime's slide was "censored" because of what happened in the past. At a previous Otakon panel, he mentioned that he wanted to do a Trigun movie — but because he mentioned the possibility, he ended up having to make it.
Update: Maruyama later revealed at the ongoing panel that Ninja Scroll creator Yoshiaki Kawajiri is working on the Ninja Ten Battles anime.
