Hellsing's Hirano, Nichijou's Arawi Launch New Manga (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
Hellsing manga creator Kouta Hirano has launched a new three-part manga called Bishōnen de Meitantei de Doesu in the 2010 Summer issue of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Daioh Genesis magazine on Tuesday. This issue is the third one for this quarterly magazine, which focuses on original works, instead of anime and game tie-ins like most other magazines from ASCII Media Works. Also in the same issue is Shiawase no Kakudo, the new manga by Nichijou creator Keiichi Arawi. The next issue will ship on October 19 with new manga series from Atsushi Suzumi (Venus Versus Virus, Haridama Magical Cram School, Amefurashi) and Shigeki Maeshima (Dragon Fly, Tatakau Shisho novel illustrations, The Five Killers pilot's character designs).
The story of Hirano's new manga centers around a handsome ophthalmologist who investigates a murder in Tokyo in the first half of the 20th century. Hirano ended his Hellsing manga in Japan in late 2008, and Dark Horse Comics shipped the final volume in North America last month. Hirano is also working on another manga called Drifters in Shonengahosha's Young King Ours magazine.
