Angel Beats! #1 Sells 23,000 to Top Weekly BD Chart

1st new #1 BD after Evangelion:2.22's 4 weeks at #1; Eva:2.22 sells 425K overall
Oricon Communications reports that the first Blu-ray Disc volume of the Angel Beats! television anime series has sold 23,000 copies during the June 21-27 week to top the Blu-ray Disc sales chart. It is the first new #1 Blu-ray release after Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha) held the top spot for four straight weeks.
Evangelion only sold 6,000 more copies this past week and dropped to #4 on the weekly chart. However, it still holds the overall record for most Blu-ray Disc copies sold in Japan with 425,000 copies.
