The Tatami Galaxy BD/DVDs to Bundle 3 Unaired Shorts
posted on by Egan Loo
The Japanese Blu-ray Disc and DVD releases of The Tatami Galaxy (Yojō-Han Shinwa Taikei) television anime series will ship later this year with three short, unaired episodes. This spring, director Masaaki Yuasa (Kaiba, Mind Game, Kemonozume) and the Mad House anime studio are adapting Tomihiko Morimi's Yojō-Han Shinwa Taikei novel about a college student's campus life experiences at various circles (clubs).
ASMIK and Fuji TV will ship the first of four Blu-ray/DVD volumes on August 20. The first volume will include the first unaired seven-minute episode as well as a guide to the city of Kyoto by Europe Planning, the studio of series script supervisor Makoto Ueda. On September 23, the second Blu-ray/DVD volume will ship with the anime's opening animation footage and a credit-less version of the ending animation footage, as well as the next-episode previews. The third and fourth Blu-ray/DVD volumes will bundle the last two unaired seven-minute episodes on October 22 and November 26, respectively.
Funimation is streaming each televised episode in North America, with English subtitles, within an hour of the Japanese broadcast.
