Seitokai Yakuindomo Manga Gets TV Anime Green-Lit
posted on by Egan Loo
The combined 22nd/23rd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine is announcing on Wednesday that a television anime adaptation of Tozen Ujiie's Seitokai Yakuindomo slice-of-life comedy manga has been green-lit. More details will be available at Starchild Records' official website next week, as well as in the 24th issue of Weekly Shōnen Magazine on May 12.
The story centers around Ōsai Academy, a former all-girls private high school which has recently been integrated for both genders. The student body is split between 524 girls and 28 boys. Takatoshi Tsuda is pushed into becoming the vice-president of the student council, where he is the lone male member surrounded by girls.
Ujiie launched the four-panel gag manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2007, and the third compiled volume shipped in Japan in January. The announcement's image features a silhouette of Shino Amakusa, the student council president. The color version of the image will be on Starchild Records' website.
Update: More background and story information added.
