Otakon has announced that it will host fashion designer Naoto Hirooka, also known as h.Naoto, at the July 30 – August 1 convention in Baltimore, Maryland. Hirooka, whose fashions borrow from punk, gothic lolita and visual kei, will present a fashion show of his own designs featuring Otakon members as models. Registered members of the convention can apply to participate.
Hirooka's collection created the character-based lines Channel H and Hangry&Angry, which were designed to appeal to anime and video game cosplay fans. Hirooka has also produced specialty brands such as the men's shop "h," which focuses on street-brand designs, and the shop "8club," which "focuses on sexiness and cuteness."
Otakorp, Inc. had previously announced that musical acts The Yoshida Brothers and Home Made Kazoku would also be attending the convention, along with voice actor Vic Mignogna and voice actress Maile Flanagan.
