Bungaku Shoujo Gets 3 All-New Anime DVD Episodes (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
Mizuki Nomura's "Bungaku Shōjo" ("A Literary Girl") light novel series will spawn three all-new original DVD episodes, in addition to Shunsuke Tada and Production I.G's previously announced anime film adaptation. The "mysterious school comedy" centers on the unusual members of a high school literary club. Each DVD will feature a booklet with a short story written by Nomura, an outer box decorated by the light novels' illustrator (Miho Takeoka), and a reversible DVD jacket with illustrations from both the light novels and the anime.
June 25's Bungaku Shōjo Memoire I -Yume-Miru Shoujo no Prelude- DVD will focus on Tōko Amano, the club president who calls herself "a literary girl" but is actually a supernatural creature (yōkai) that devours stories — she tears pages from books to munch on them. October 29's Bungaku Shōjo Memoire II -Sora-Mau Tenshi no Requiem- will focus on Miu Asakura, the childhood friend of the main male character (Konoha Inoue). December 24's Bungaku Shōjo Memoire III -Koi Suru Otome no Rhapsody- will focus on Nanase Kotobuki, Konoha's classmate and the club's librarian.
The anime film will open in Japan on May 1.
