Sora no Otoshimono's 2nd TV Season Reportedly Green-Lit
posted on by Egan Loo
The wraparound jacket band on reprinted copies of Suu Minazuki's Sora no Otoshimono manga has reportedly announced that production on a second television anime season has been green-lit. According to the jacket band, there are 1.5 million copies of the manga's seven volumes.
The story of the manga and first anime season follows Tomoki Sakurai (Souichiro Hoshi), an ordinary middle school boy and avowed pacifist. A strange girl often appears in his dream to ask for his help — only he cannot remember her face when he wakes up. Then, his life gets more complicated when an unidentified mysterious animal (UMA) falls out of the skies. The "animal" turns out to be Ikaros (Saori Hayami), an angel. The first television season ran from October to December of last year.
The seventh and final DVD volume of the first television season was originally slated to contain "Project Pink," a DVD-exclusive episode "too dangerous" for television. The anime's website then announced this month that this episode was removed from the seventh DVD volume, and stated that the episode's "release format" will be announced in the future.
