Planzet, Eden of the East II Films' Promos Streamed
posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the computer-animated Planzet film from Negadon: The Monster from Mars creator Jun Awazu has begun streaming a new one-minute trailer on Friday. The website has also announced that the film will open in Japan on May 22, and that Chitose Hajime (Blood+, Ayakashi - Samurai Horror Tales, The Beast Player Erin) is singing the theme song "Ryūgū no Tsukai." The story is set in 2053 when mankind faces annihilation from space. CoMix Wave produced both Negadon and Planzet as well as the works of anime auteur Makoto Shinkai. Central Park Media released Negadon: The Monster from Mars in North America.
The official staff blog of the Eden of the East anime franchise has posted the eighth "Paradise Resort" video — a two-minute weekly behind-the-scenes look at the production of the second film — on Friday. (The first seven videos are still available at the same link.) In the new video, the staff describe the process of sound production on the film. The film itself, Eden of the East the Movie II: Paradise Lost, is opening in Japan on Saturday. It continues the story from last year's Eden of the East television anime series and November's Eden of the East the Movie I: The King of Eden. Funimation licensed the original television series for North America. The television series and the films feature Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex director Kenji Kamiyama and character designer Chika Umino (Honey and Clover).
