posted on by Egan Loo
Adult Swim, the late-night television programming block of Cartoon Network in the United States, has confirmed on early Monday morning that "we've lost the rights to Death Note and Blood+" in a status update of its anime titles. However, Adult Swim's onscreen bumper added, "We're just clearing house for goodies from our last Tokyo visit. We can't tell you anything yet, but we think we bought three series [maybe]."
Cartoon Network ended its televised run of Death Note by showing the anime's last five episodes in a row on early Sunday morning.
Adult Swim's Monday morning bumpers also noted that the Bleach anime series earned a rating of 341,000 among viewers 18-34 on Sunday, January 3 at 1:00 a.m. (The American television series King of the Hill had 376,000 on Saturday, January 2 at 10:30 p.m.)
