posted on by Egan Loo
This year's second issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic Original magazine has announced on Monday that a live-action film adaptation of Shinichi Ishizuka's Gaku - Minna no Yama mountain-climbing manga has been green-lit for 2011. The cast and other details about the film project have yet to be announced. The manga deals with the human drama of a climber on a mountain rescue team.
The current issue of Big Comic Original has not only announced the film project, but has also published the 100th installment of the manga. The manga has been running in the magazine since 2003, and 10 compiled book volumes have been published. The story won the first ever Manga Taisho (Cartoon Grand Prize) in 2008 and the General category in the 54th Shogakukan Manga Awards last year.
